This prevents computers being used in inappropriate or criminal ways.

There law prohibits the following:

1. Unauthorised access to computer material. You should not access data on a computer or a network without permission. Eg. by using someone else’s account details.
2.  Unauthorised access with intent to commit or facilitate commission of further offences. You cannot use a computer to carry out another crime. Eg. to facilitate a burglary.
3. Unauthorised acts with intent to impair, or with recklessness as to impairing, operation of computer, etc. You should not send or install programs which cause computers to malfunction (malware or viruses).
4. Making, supplying or obtaining articles for use in offence under section 1 or 3. You cannot create devices that will allow people to break the rules above.
