The internet is simply a huge network that connects lots of smaller networks together.

Client – device that accesses the internet. We commonly use clients such as laptops, tablets and phones. However, many other devices maybe able to access the internet including game consoles and smart TVs.

ISP (Internet Service Provider) – company that connects you to the internet (Eg. Sky, BT, Virgin Media).

Server – Large computers that store large amounts of data, commonly websites.
